“By joining Ace, I have seen a 10% reduction in wholesale cost of goods, and a 3-point increase in my margin. That was big, as it was a total gain of margin dollars to my bottom-line. The Ace advertising program drives footsteps into my store, which we weren’t experiencing with our previous wholesaler. Not only were our print flyers a lot more effective, but Ace’s national advertising program has built a real image with the consumers that can’t be denied.”
-Perry Hahn, Owner
Hahn Ace Hardware has a long tradition of serving the Hartford and surrounding community. George Hess first opened a hardware store in downtown Hartford around 1870. Anton Schmidt purchased the business from Mr. Hess in 1898, operating in numerous locations around Hartford, including the current “Bank Shot”, across from Hartford City Hall, and its current location. The hardware store stayed in the Schmidt family until 1999 when Tony & Colette Schmidt retired and sold the business to long-time manager Perry Hahn and his wife Barbara. Barb and Perry’s son, Adam, joined the family-business in 2013 after previously working for Target Corporation.
We are thrilled to carry on our family-owned tradition at our Delafield store (formerly Warden’s Ace) a local family-owned business since 1982.
Hahn Ace Hardware continues to prosper and grow thanks only to our GREAT customers and friends like you! Our door is always open and we’d love to introduce ourselves to you. Any time you’re in one of our stores, ask for us and help us be in better touch with the communities that we serve.
